No plans, and I think we need to keep it that way. . .
He looked up at her giving her a feigned pout as she sat the pancakes in front of him. "Don't my plans count?" Asking her as if should have a say so. Well he should, he is her husband and what a nicer way to spend the afternoon than with one's lovely wife. But then again he respected Lily and if she didn't want or feel like the attention then he backed off. Knowing that marriage was more than what happened in the bedroom ... it was a mutual partnership of understanding, respect, and trust plus more.
. . . Take it slow, Casanova, you're injured, remember?
He reached for the tea taking a drink. Sitting the cup back down before he spoke, "All the more reason you be at my side. I may relapse and be in need of help. You know to someone to administer to my needs." he grinned as she sat down.
How is your side feeling?
The pancakes smelled delicious. "Oh? .... it will be alright." No use in telling her it hurt. She wasn't stupid or blind. He knew that even though he had tried to hide it that she had picked up on it anyway. Though he was surprised she didn't insist on looking at it. He picked up his knife and cut several pads of butter. Putting each pad between the pancake layers and then one on top. Picking up the fork he began to cut across the pancake stack. He paused looking over the pancakes at her. She was sitting there with her mug of tea that he had just about finished. "Aren't you going to eat?"

"Your plans count, but you're hurt and you need to heal."
She reminded him with a small grin. She knew he didn't like resting, and he was never very good at admitting that he was hurt. It had resulted in arguments in the past, and it would in the future as well, she knew it would. Right now she was trying not to get anything started, though, she figured it for the best. She loved him, and she didn't mind helping him, or looking after him, but she knew that connotation, and she knew that James was restless, he didn't like to give himself complete time to heal, he was impatient, a large difference between the two of them honestly.
He must have thought he was funny, but Lily grinned. He wanted someone to be at his beck and call. She could think of several someones to watch him while she was out.
"I'm not leaving for a while, and I won't be gone, but if you need someone to babysit you, love, I could owl someone."
She was only teasing, she knew he wouldn't want someone to watch him. He wasn't that much of a danger to himself. Lily took a small sip of her own tea, that he had pretty much drank most of, seated comfortably and when he asked her if she was going to eat, she shook her head.
"I'm not hungry. I'll eat later."
She told him honestly. She ignored his side, just because she knew she could check it once he was asleep. She hoped he'd eat quickly and that the sleeping potion she'd drizzled into his tea would help him rest so she could have a look, and that he wouldn't be so restless. She knew he hadn't gotten enough sleep.....

He picked up the syrup and poured a heaping portion over his pancakes. Knowing he was not going to win this battle of wits, of having her cuddle next to him in their bed, he dropped the subject. Yeah it would have been nice, but clearly she wasn't interested and had other things on her mind. Which was fine. Tired as he was, he probably wouldn't have lasted very long anyways. More than likely he would have fallen asleep on her.
I'm not leaving for a while, and I won't be gone, but if you need someone to babysit you, love, I could owl someone
"Nah ... I'll be fine." He said as he stabbed a forkful and ate it. Swallowing he looked over at Lily. "So where are you off to today?" More than likely she was going to turn in the work she had been doing or perhaps picking up some more. He continued eating. Cleaning his plate, before picking up the tea and downing the rest of it. Oddly he didn't seem as tired. But he still wanted to try to get some rest. He stood and picked up his dishes. Walking over to the sink he sat them in it, before turning and walking over to Lily. Leaning over he gave her a kiss. "I think I'm going to lay down for a bit ... you go do your errands and don't worry about me."

IT wasn't that Lily didn't like spending time with James, not in the least, but she wanted to work, so she knew that keeping herself on a schedule and on time was the best thing that she could do, honestly. She needed something that kept her busy, other than doing miscellaneous things for the order. She knew that James wasn't going to be awake long, and she could check his wounds. She wanted to be completely sure that he was going to be okay, she worried, she was just trying a different approach.
She was positive that James was tired, half by his responses, and other things as well. Lifting her brow she cleared her throat.
"I have to meet with the author to show him the edits for the book, it's going to be a book considered for Hogwarts."
Lily told him, and watched as he finished eating and then put his stuff in the sink before kissing her on the cheek.
"All right, get some rest, and I'll check on you before I leave and when I get back, and if you're awake and feeling okay, maybe I'll look into the other ideas you had for spending time together."
She told him with a smile, getting up and kissing his cheek before, moving and taking her mug to the sink.

"Okay then .... you be careful." he said giving her a second kiss before turning and walking with a limp out or the room.
Upstairs in the bedroom he took off the robe, laying it on the nearby chair. It had been a long night and he was exhausted. Physically and mentally drained. He climbed into the bed, fluffing his pillow somewhat before laying his head down. It felt good to finally lay down. Soon he would let his muscles relax. Close his eyes and ease into a deep sleep. Or so he thought.
There was one little roadblock he hadn't counted on. Something that he had no knowledge of. Something that his wife had done in hopes of making sure he got the rest she thought he should have. Potions, like muggle medications have different effects on individuals. Side effects that most don't consider because for the majority of people the side effects are non-existent.
He laid down with every intention of going to sleep. But he was restless. Beginning to get a jittery feeling. Unable to relax, he tossed and turned.

Lily stayed downstairs, giving her wand a flick, and the dishes began to clean themselves. She may not have used magic for cooking, but cleaning, in certain ways, was a whole different matter all together. Lily didn't mind those being done with magic, and maybe it was because they were the chores she hated the most, but she really didn't care for doing the dishes. IT just wasn't something that helped relieve her stress or that she enjoyed in any way, so she allowed herself to use magic to accomplish it. She wanted to wait a little bit for James to fall asleep before she went up to check on him.
So, she gathered up everything she needed to take with her later and loaded it into a satchel, organized in the manner that she felt it needed to be. Lily was meticulous at times, other times she wasn't so peculiar, it depended, today she wanted to be completely organized. She waited a bit longer, putting a few things up and tidying things before she moved up the stairs.
She'd donned her shirt for the day, a sweater that went three quarters the way down her arm and had put her wand into her pocket as she moved up the stairs and then into their bedroom. She was silent and had her back to the bed, attempting to close the door silently and not wake him up, she assumed he was asleep....

There is nothing more frustrating than trying to sleep when sleep is the last thing your body wants to do. In his mind he was tired, exhausted, but his metabolism was on a high for some reason. Though he supposed it was because he ate. Perhaps that was the reason he couldn't relax and go to sleep. After an hour of laying there. Adjusting the pillow and then re-adjusting it, tossing the covers on and back off, he had had enough! "Bloody hell" he muttered, tossing the covers aside and getting up.
There was no sense in laying about if he couldn't rest. So he might as well go on and run his errand to Diagon Alley and while there he'd pick something up for Lily. He made his way over to the dresser. Opening several drawers taking out a pair of briefs and some jeans before heading to the bathroom.
Once in the bathroom he opened up the medicine cabinet. Taking out a four-by-four dressing, he placed it over his wound and taped it into place. Then he dressed. Pulling on his briefs, then his pants. The dressing kept the waistband from rubbing it too bad, which was good. He left the bathroom and went to the closet. Choosing a shirt he slipped it on and was buttoning it when the door opened. He turned and looked. Seeing Lily trying to ease the door back shut. "I thought you were leaving?" he asked.

Lily was sure that he'd be asleep by now, he should be. He was practically dead on his feet when he came in. She knew that he needed the rest too. That was why she was taking care to be extra quiet as she entered. And while she was in the process of shutting the door, silently, behind her she was surprised and jumped in surprise at hearing James' voice. She shut the door, not so quietly and turned to face him, her jaw hanging open lightly.
"I thought you were going to sleep?"
She asked him in an accusing tone, like he was staying awake on purpose. HE was in clean clothes now too. She made a face, unsure as to why the heck he wasn't in bed. He needed to rest!
"You need some rest, and I was going to check on your side while you were asleep."
She stated honestly, figuring that was the best idea.... and she was still confused as to why exactly he wasn't sleeping contentedly.
